ABOUT
I earned my B.A. in Fine Arts and German Studies from Pitzer College, with a focus on foundation art practices and traditional figurative sculpture. I subsequently moved from California to Illinois, where I attended the University of Chicago's Committee on Visual Arts, and obtained my M.F.A., specializing in digital video, installation art, and new media. I have taught Sculpture and Art Appreciation in both Phoenix and Chicago, and my interest in both higher education and museum administration eventually led me to a position with UCR/California Museum of Photography’s Digital Studio—a community imaging and technology center. In addition to my educational programming, I served as Curator, and later Director of Digital Media, at the UCR ARTSblock. I have a wealth of experience in fine and applied art including digital video and new media installation. After a transition to to curatorial work, web development, and digital marketing roles, my focus over the past four years has been on digital design and manufacturing as well as art instruction that blends traditional art and new media. My current projects have a more commercial orientation, incorporating sculptural techniques with traditional and 3D manufacturing, as well as laser and CNC design.
Specialties: Advanced command of digital imaging and video software including programs such as Adobe CS. Extensive knowledge of and experience with video, audio editing, design software, with expansion into 3D manufacturing, laser and CNC design.
